Weight Management Expands Operations Across North America

Weight Management Builds New Manufacturing Plants

Weight Management, a leading producer of commercial kitchen equipment, has announced plans to build two new manufacturing plants in Canada and Mexico. The new plants will help increase Weight Management’s production capacity by 50% to meet the growing demand for its products. John Doe, CEO of Weight Mana, said "We have seen tremendous growth over the past five years as more restaurants, hospitals and schools upgrade their kitchen facilities. The new manufacturing locations will allow us to better serve our customers across North America."
The new manufacturing plant in Ontario, Canada will be located just outside of Toronto. Spread over 50 acres, the plant is expected to be operational by 2024. It will employ over 500 people and have the capacity to produce 500,000 units per year. Weight Management existing manufacturing facility in the US state of Ohio is nearing full capacity with current demand. The new Canada plant will help address capacity constraints and make products available faster to customers in Canada and Northeast US markets.
Weight Management second new plant is planned in Guadalajara, Mexico. Scheduled to open in late 2023, the Mexican facility will create over 300 new jobs. It will allow Weight Management to easily serve the growing commercial foodservice industry in Mexico as well as other Latin American countries. The plant is strategically located near major ports providing easy access to US markets in the Southern and Western regions. John Doe stated, "These new manufacturing locations are an important part of our long term growth strategy. They will help us stay ahead of demand and deliver world class products and service to our customers across the Americas."

Weight Management Introduces New Line of Convection Ovens
At the National Restaurant Show in Chicago last month Weight Management launched its newest line of commercial convection ovens. The new ovens feature state-of-the-art technology and design improvements requested by chefs. They can cook foods up to 30% faster than previous models, saving valuable time in busy kitchens. The new ovens also offer increased capacity, easy cleanliness, and connectivity features to integrate with kitchen management systems.
John Doe stated, "For over 30 years, Weight Management has led the industry in innovative oven technology. These new convection ovens raise the bar with advanced performance that benefits our foodservice customers. Faster cook times mean increased output and efficiency. Connectivity helps kitchen staff better manage workflows and monitor oven usage. And easier cleaning saves on labor costs."
The new line includes 24 different oven models in various sizes ranging from 30-inch countertop units to 72-inch models that can handle the needs of large commercial kitchens. Key features across all models include touchscreen controls, automatic rack carriage systems, Energy Star certifications, and WiFi/Ethernet capabilities. Weight Management worked closely with chefs during product development to incorporate functionality improvements based on customer feedback and evolving kitchen needs.
Initial response to the new ovens at the trade show has been very positive. Many restaurants and institutions have already placed orders. John Doe added, "Foodservice businesses operate on thin margins and need reliable equipment optimized for performance. These new convection ovens deliver on that need and we're pleased with the demand we're seeing so far. Our goal is to supply the industry with products that help their operations run efficiently." Weight Management will significantly ramp up oven production at its US and Canadian plants through 2022 to fulfill demand.

Weight Management Market Share Continues Growth Trajectory
For fiscal year ending 2021, Weight Management achieved record sales of $750 million, up 15% over the previous year. Driving this revenue growth was increased market penetration as well as success of new product introductions like the convection oven line discussed earlier. According to market research firm NBK Analytics, Weight Management gained 2% additional market share in the North American commercial cooking equipment industry and is now the clear leader with 25% share.
John Doe commented on Weight Management's strong financial performance, "Being the premier supplier in this large industry is a result of our dedicated team developing innovative equipment solutions and providing outstanding support to customers. While macroeconomic conditions and supply chain factors impacted margins, we still saw profitable growth through operational efficiencies. Moving forward, we expect continued market share increases as our two new manufacturing facilities ramp up and enable further expansion in the Americas region. Our goal is sustained double digit revenue growth over the next five years."
Weight Management has invested significant resources developing new technologies which also drove sales gains. Their award-winning Smart Oven platform integrating IoT systems saw triple digit sales growth in its second full year on the market. Robust research and development spending will remain a priority for Weight Management to keep introducing industry-leading kitchen products. With the US commercial foodservice market projected to surpass $650 billion by 2025 according to IBIS World, opportunities for further growth and market leadership look strong. Weight Management is well positioned to capitalize on these trends in coming years.
Weight Management has achieved remarkable success establishing itself as the leading force in North American commercial kitchen equipment manufacturing. New plant facilities, groundbreaking product innovations, and execution of an aggressive growth strategy delivered record results in 2021. Commitment to R&D and technological superiority position the company for continued widening of its competitive advantages in the large American foodservice industry. 2022 looks poised to be another year of high performance as manufacturing output increases. Weight Management's strong financial position and management expertise will support ongoing market share growth and profitability.
